4. Acts as a Deodorant

Thanks to its excellent odor-absorbing abilities, baking soda is often found in deodorant products. This is also why some people keep an open box of it in their bathrooms or freezers. Its effectiveness comes from its antibacterial properties. Did you know that sweat itself is odorless? It only smells when bacteria on our skin break it down into acidic waste. While baking soda doesn’t stop this process completely, it makes the end result much less acidic and much less smelly. In a pinch, try using it as a natural deodorant by patting some under your arms.
