Baking soda can benefit all kinds of skin conditions. It works especially well to relieve persistent itching and the discomfort caused by insect bites and stings. For this, combine baking soda and water to make a thick paste, then apply it to the affected areas. If you have itchy sunburned skin, try a baking soda bath. Simply add one or two teaspoons of baking soda to a warm (not hot) bath. Soak for at least 30 minutes, making sure to cover the problem areas.
