7. Coat versus jacket

Jackets, rarely touching bare skin, should be washed in cold water no more than once every three months. Adding tennis balls in the wash helps prevent down and feathers from clumping, preserving shape. Coats need special care, especially for stains. Always check care labels for fabric-specific cleaning instructions. Many coats, especially delicate ones, require professional cleaning to avoid damage.
