A rescue full of twists
When the Colorado Springs Fire Department answered an urgent call, they did not expect what they would find. Reaching the scene, they began pulling eight tiny creatures from a storm drain. The shivering youngsters looked like distressed newborn puppies. For hours the crew worked steadily, certain they were saving a litter of dogs.
Only after finishing did they learn they were wrong. The fragile animals were not puppies at all but another species entirely, turning a routine mission into an unforgettable surprise.
