11. Raptor F-22
The F-22 Raptor from Lockheed Martin entered service in 1997 at a value near $350 million. This single seat twin engine stealth fighter emerged from the Advanced Tactical Fighter program as a leap in capability.Optimized for air superiority, it also conducts electronic warfare, strike, and intelligence roles. Stealth performance grants significant tactical advantage.

Developed chiefly by Lockheed Martin with Boeing contributing aft fuselage, avionics, and wings, it is described by the USAF as a critical component of tactical air power. A total of 195 airframes were produced and 187 remain active. Production ended in 2011 due to changing strategy and the emergence of the F-35.
